Matthew and I bought pumpkins for my nieces and nephews to carve at a family cook out! We had to much fun carving them and playing kick ball afterwards! Don't worry I only kicked and my Aunt "ran" for me in her scooter it was pretty funny if you ask me!

3 weeks of sweetness!
Conner is 3 weeks old today and he is weighing in at 8.2lbs back to his birth weight. We have been breast feeding and fomula feeding him to get his weight up. He has been sleeping pretty well at night and taking regular naps in the day which is nice because mommy is getting sleep and still keeping up with my house hold chorse. He will be 1 month old next Wednesday!

2 Weeks and Conner's first doctor's appointment
Conner is 2 weeks old and we went to his first doctor's appointment. Which was not a fun visit, unfortunatly Conner isn't gaining enough weight... He was 8 pounds 2 ounces when he was born but when we left the hospital it was 7 pounds and 6 ounces. Today it was 7.5 which sadly enough the doctor suggested me to breastfeed and to formula feed Conner. Now he is eating 2 ounces of formula and 1 ounce of breast milk (when I pump). We go back Monday for a re-weigh in so hopefully we will have some progress! Please keep us in your prayers for Little Conner to gain weight!

1 week old
Loving my little family!
Conner turned one week old on Wednesday which is so hard to believe! We came home from the hospital last Friday and that night was the hardest for us. My milk was coming in and Conner wanted to cluster feed because he knew it was coming. So he ate every hour for 30 minutes. It was aweful, but I stuck it out and got a nap Saturday morning and I was up and ready for the first full day at home with my little man. Matthew has been such a great help so I can take naps, shower, or just get a few things done. Mainly he has been doing all the house work and we haven't had to cook in over a week since we have had guest bring us dinner which we are so grateful for! Mr. Conner is getting bigger we took him to the Lactation nurse this morning and he is getting enough milk from me which is a big reliefe! We go to see his peditrician next Tuesday and we also get our family pictures done on Wednesday! So exciting! Keep checking back for more updates on our little family.

Conner Arrives!!!!!!!!!
William Conner Uhl
September 29, 2010
10:19pm
8 pounds 2 onces
20 inches long
He is here! Praise God I had a wonderful, safe, and beautiful delivery! However, it was the longest day of my life. It all began at 4:45am when my water broke, I wasn't sure if that was the case but I got out of bed during a contraction and walked to the bathroom and as I walked in I heard the loudest POP and then the flood gates opened... I wasn't sure if it was my bladder being he was laying right on it. Thank God I already had a doctors appointment at 8:45 so I waited until then to have my water confirmed to be broke. After my water broke I started having contractions 5-7 minutes apart. Once we went to the doctor, I saw my mid wife Wendy and she confirmed that my water was indeed broken and she made the comment "I see hair", I never saw Matthew jump out of a chair so fast to look! In fact there was dark hair coming! I was 4cm dilated and 90 percent effaced and more than ready to meet my little man! Wendy sent us straight to the hospital where I checked in at 10am. By then I was nervous and excited! Once I checked in I met my doula Shelby who was the best doula in the world! She coached me through the entire laboring process while I was having contractions. After a few hours of more labor we found out Conner was a little stuck, so Shelby showed me some moves to help him move down the birth canal a little bit more easier and to make me feel more comfortable. Unfortunatly everything doesn't work out and my contractions were back to back and then would stop. Therefore the doctor ordered pitocin, nothing I wanted to do but we needed to get Conner out safe and without any stress. The pitocin made my labor so much harder and the contractions 10x stronger. They gave me some newbain to smooth things up for me. Because I was having a natural birth. Let me tell you I was asleep in between contractions which was good, but I was saying some pretty funny things! I had my sister, my mother, mother in law, and husband in the room with me as well as the doula. They all did a great job coaching me and being there for me! Well Doctor Smithson was not on call so I had Doctor Lebins deliver. He came in a told me Conner was stuck on a cervial lip and we had to try to up my pitocin level so we could get him out safely. Oh my gosh the contractions were so much stronger. At 9:30pm I was woken up from a nap by a nurse saying we are going to have you push to see if the doctor can get Conner lose. Well I pushed for 5 minutes and told the doctor "Get Your HAND OUT OF THERE" lol. Then he says the only way you are going to do that is push my hand out! So I pushed and pushed for 30 minutes and then they boosted up my pitocin again! OUCH! So, after that I demanded a C-Section because I wanted to give up. Everyone laughed and said TO LATE! I pushed for 15 more minutes and they ended using a vaccum on me needless to say it helped because 10 minutes later he came into the world at 10:19pm! They threw him on my chest and we were skin to skin. This was the most emotional moment in my life when he looked up at me with his big beautiful blue eyes and we both just looked at each other with so much love. Matthew, Jo Ann, and my mom were all in there to experiance that moment with us. Then once they took Conner from me to weigh him 8lbs and 2 oz! Oh my gosh, a big baby! He was so alert when he came into this world and he is a strong little man. The nurse said oh my goodness he has a strong grip! What a long day but it was so worth all the pain! I was taken to my room afterwards while Matthew and Conner went to the nursery to get cleaned up and evaluated. The nurses brough him to the room during the night because he is being breast feed which by the way I am so glad I am doing because it is such a great way to bond with my little man. Not to mention no one else can do it but me... We stayed at the hospital for only 2 days and we were visited by so many friends and family we are so over whelmed with love. Once we got home on Friday we learned what it was like to be a mommy and daddy at all hours of the night lol. Matthew and I were so tired but we would just smile and say it is all worth it. Well there is the story of the best day of Matthew and my life. We are so in love with our little boy and can not beleive how God has choosen us to be William Conner Uhl's parents! God is so great!!!!!!!!!!
